I know, it’s been FOREVER since I last blogged. So much has happened that I don’t even know where to begin. I hate that I haven’t blogged in so long, because I feel like I’ve just left out a lot of important stuff that’s happened with us, and there’s just way too much for me to remember it all. I need to make an “April Resolution” to blog at least once a week. We’ll see how that goes.
Isabelle has grown SO much. It’s amazing how fast little ones grow. We took her out of daycare in February and she started staying with Jason’s mom. She absolutely loves it there! There are NO MORE tears when we drop her off in the mornings. Her vocabulary has really picked up, and she’s said a few short sentences, such as, “That’s my milk!” Her favorite that she says often though is, “That’s mine!!” She knows what belongs to her.
Her favorite place to be is outside. I think she’s going to grow up to be some tree-hugging hippy girl that lives in the trees. That’s just how much she loves being outside. Last week when Jason mowed the yard, she was able to ride with him when he did the front, but since the back has rocks and is somewhat hilly, we had to bring her inside. She was so sad that she couldn’t be out there with him. She sat at the window in the living room with her arms crossed on the windowsill and laid her head on her hands and watched her Daddy the ENTIRE time he was out back mowing!
Speaking of Jason, I am seriously so lucky to have him. Many fathers that I know of just leave the Mom to do ALL the work. As busy as I am with school, and as tired as this pregnancy has me, I really don’t know how I would be able to do the Mommy part without his help. It’s getting harder for me to lift her up, so he’s always there to put her in the carseat for me, put her to bed, change her diapers, or just hand her to me so I don’t have to bend over. He is such an active father. Izzy and I are extremely lucky!
Since I just mentioned my pregnancy, I’ll also mention that Isabelle is going to be a BIG SISTER! As of today, I’m about 19 weeks pregnant with our little boy, Cannon Wade!!! We were so excited to find out Monday that it’s a boy. I’m planning on spending the summer reorganizing the bedrooms and getting the “kids!!” settled. It’s so weird saying kids! We have until August 20 to get everything ready for him, if he doesn’t make plans otherwise.
My blood pressure (for the first time ever) has actually been really high, so I’m on medication. I have to go back to Jackson Monday to get some blood work and other tests done to make sure my kidneys are functioning properly because of the blood pressure. This has really been scary for me. I just hope everything turns out ok. I’ve been taking my medicine, but I went to the school nurse twice today and my blood pressure was still sky high. If my blood pressure is still high in 4 weeks, my doctor MAY put me on bedrest. That could be a good thing, as I will have to stay home from work (teaching 1st grade is stressful!), but bad also, because having a toddler and being on bedrest for 4 months do not seem to mix well.
On a lighter note, I’ve been feeling Cannon kick for a few weeks now, which is always amazing. I have a doppler heartbeat monitor so every few nights we let Isabelle listen to her brother. We talk to her and explain to her that there’s a baby in my belly, but I’m not sure if she quite understands it just yet. She is, however, much smarter than we give her credit for. A few weeks ago she and I were laying in bed and I told her that I wished she knew how to scratch my back. The next thing I knew she had crawled behind me and started to scratch! How she knew what that meant, I have NO clue.
Anyway, it’s late and I am running out of things to write. Hopefully it won’t be six more months before I get back on here and blog. Jason and I are so thrilled with our babies, and we are happy to share our experiences on here (when the time allows!).
